Micro Phlebectomy

One of the techniques used by vein doctors in Bergen County to eliminate varicose veins and their secondary varicosities is phlebectomy. This technique is often used in conjunction with ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy and radiofrequency ablation, because it can help to reduce the size of large, bulging veins more quickly.

During the procedure, which is also known as ambulatory phlebectomy or microphlebectomy, the doctor makes a number of tiny incisions in the skin covering the affected veins.

Naturally, a local anesthetic is applied first, so that you don’t feel the pain of these incisions or needle-pricks. Then your varicose vein doctor in Hudson County uses a special hook-shaped tool to remove the diseased vein.
 
After the procedure, you will be fitted with medical-grade compression stockings, and then asked to walk for a few minutes to improve circulation and promote healing.
 
You may be asked to wear compression stockings or bandages for 1-2 weeks following the procedure, but recovery is usually rapid, so within a very short period of time you can enjoy healthy legs again, free of the traces of varicose veins.
